The Mission

Heart of Care is an independent, grassroots, peer-led community wellness ecosystem built around the Eight Dimensions of Wellness: emotional, physical, social, spiritual, occupational, financial, environmental and intellectual. The mission is to help people move from Survival to Stability by connecting peer support, resources, creativity, animals, agriculture, education and community.

The Red Bullet & Mobile Mission

My 2018 Nissan Sentra — the Red Bullet — supports mobile peer and community outreach, carrying resources, food, animal feed, supplies, artwork and handmade goods. It also supports the Honey Badger Mobile Pop-Up, which helps generate independent income to sustain the mission.

The 99 Retreat & Cat Nap Inn

The 99 Retreat is my farm and developing wellness space. The Cat Nap Inn is my home and Heart of Care office. Within my capacity, I provide grassroots assistance including food, clothing, hygiene support, peer support, community navigation and practical help. I feed feral cat communities, support animals, and have helped people experiencing homelessness with food, clothing and, when safely possible, access to basic hygiene and bathing.

How the Community Can Help

Heart of Care is a one-woman grassroots operation. I work an outside job and use my own earned income, vehicle, home, farm, labor, artwork, products and services to keep this work moving. I am asking for help with gas; cat and dog food; water, Powerade, juice and portable snacks; rinse-free hygiene products; clothing; printer ink, paper and binders; farm and animal supplies; website and app development; insurance; legal services; and basic business operations.

Tithing into the community: If community giving is something you practice or feel called to consider, please consider Heart of Care Full Spectrum Community Treatment Service or the Honey Badger among the places you support.

Volunteers: Sign Up. Show Up.

Reliable help is needed with basic farm care, gardening, watering, weeding, organizing, animal care, moving materials and projects. Please do not commit if you cannot come. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Reliability is community care.

The community helps fund the mission. The mission puts resources back into the community.
