a little shrine for the human kind
Reliquary of the Human Kind
how it was built
Crow-work at the Cat Nap Inn
Made by hand at my kitchen-table studio, layered slow like a crow builds a nest — salvaged papers, acrylic paint, fine glitter, a real dried flower, a tiny cameo, a snowflake, and a whisper of confetti.
This one-of-one hanging reliquary was made by hand at the Cat Nap Inn, my kitchen-table studio at the 99 Retreat Farm. I built it the way a crow builds a nest: slowly, deliberately, gathering what felt right. Salvaged papers, fine glitters, acrylic paint, a real dried flower, a tiny cameo, a snowflake, and a little confetti — all layered until the piece started to breathe.
A reliquary is traditionally a small sacred vessel. This one is a shrine for the human kind — a reminder that tenderness and wildness can live in the same breath, that grief and glitter can share a room, and that the parts of you other people tried to throw away are still worth keeping.
One exists. When it finds its person, it's gone.
