🚨 PSA! PSA! PSA! 🚨
🎤 This is the Honey Badger speaking. Check, check, check.
And this time I am not on the mic to teach you something. I am on the mic to ask you for help — because I cannot sustain this any longer by myself.
Everything you see here has been self-funded.
Every bit of Heart of Care Full Spectrum Community Treatment Service has been paid for out of my own pocket. This website. The gas. The supplies. The mobile crisis unit — the Red Bullet. All of it. Mine.
I work for another home health agency as a PCA. I take care of my patients first. And then, after my shift, I go back out into the community and keep working — as a Certified Peer Specialist of Mental Health, directing this service, unpaid, because people need somebody to show up.
Where I actually go.
I go to Mary Ross Park. I go to the racetrack on Highway 341. I work with the people living behind the KFC on 341 and behind the Waffle House in Brunswick, Georgia. I have worked cases as far out as Clinton, Tennessee.
I worked with a woman from the downtown Brunswick ARCO area — homeless, in financial destitution, passed around this community like a rag doll. I had to go all the way to our representative Buddy Carter's office to help get her out of survival mode and into some kind of stability. That is how severe some of these cases are.
I am fighting many of these cases on contingency right now, because they are too severe to walk away from and the people have nothing to pay with. It has taken a toll on the Honey Badger. A real one.
A boundary I have to say out loud.
I have brought people into my home — the Cat Nap Inn — and been misused, mishandled, disrespected, and stolen from. So here is the new rule, and it is not up for discussion:
No one comes into the residence of Heart of Care Full Spectrum Community Treatment Service anymore. I will actively go out into the community to you. The only place folks may come is the farm — the 99 Retreat — for work, physical activity, and outdoor one-on-one activity. That is it. Because of thievery.
I have asked. I have asked and asked.
I have called. I have emailed. I have walked into entities and asked for help. I built this whole website with my own money so the work would have a front door. And I have had no help from this community.
I was trying to do this without government assistance. It looks like I am going to have to go to the government now, because my community has not helped me.
So please. If there is any way — any way, shape, or form — that you can give to this cause: to Heart of Care Full Spectrum Community Treatment Service, to the Cat Nap Inn, to the 99 Retreat, to the Soul Cloth Sanctuary, to the Honey Badger and the Red Bullet —
please help me. Help me. Help me.
With love, hope, and fortitude,
🐝 The Honey Badger

Give what you can. Any amount keeps the wheels turning.
Gas for the Red Bullet. Water and supplies for the folks at Mary Ross Park. Printing for workbooks. Hours I cannot bill anybody for.
